After Diwali, I Cleaned Up Something More Than Just My Home

Once the diyas were packed away and life returned to its usual pace…

I realised the real clutter wasn’t in my cupboards.

It was in my calendar.

In my decisions.

In my head.

So I did a different kind of clean-up.

I asked myself what I was holding onto just because it felt familiar:

– A client relationship that once made sense, but now only drains energy

– A process I kept due to comfort, not effectiveness

– Tasks I insisted on owning, even when the team was ready to take over

Letting go felt uncomfortable.

Almost like breaking an unspoken promise to my past self.

But I learned something valuable:

Growth doesn’t always come from adding more.

Sometimes, it comes from finally releasing what no longer supports who you’re becoming.

I am still figuring it out.

Still learning to choose space over clutter.

Still making room for ideas that deserve a place at the table.

If you’ve been feeling that quiet heaviness too… maybe this is your sign.

Diwali may be over.

But the light stays, if we create the space for it.

Here’s to a clearer mind and a calmer path ahead.
