When a clown moves into a palace, he doesnโt become a king. The palace becomes a circus.
Itโs harsh. But itโs true.

I once coached a founder whose company was growing fast, revenues climbing, brand buzzing, but the culture was fraying.
The team was strong. The strategy sound. But every meeting felt like a performance. People were guarded. Decisions stalled. Trust started slipping away.
The cause?
One senior hire who brought more confusion than clarity.
Impressive on paper, but in reality, a misfit.
Rigid mindset. Dismissive of suggestions. Unwilling to grasp context. And rarely listened.
Their presence didnโt lift the culture. It distorted it.
The wrong person in power warps the organisation. The right person aligns it.
As I often remind my clients:

So ask yourself:
When you walk into the roomโฆ does it calm down, or heat up?
Do people open up, or shut down?
At the end of the day, titles donโt make leaders. Behaviour does.
